Complete Paradigm Shift in PR due to Technology: Mr Ravi Saxena

“A complete paradigm shift has taken place in Public Relations in recent times due to technological innovations”, says Mr Ravi Saxena,IAS,Additional Chief Sectretary,Science & Technology,Govt of Gujarat while delivering a key note address on the subject ‘Impact of Technology on Public Relations’ organised by Public Relations Society of India,Ahmedabad chapter yesterday.

Mr Ravi Saxena said, “The paradigm shift has taken place in PR because of arrival of technology enabled social networking platforms like blogs,facebook,twitter,linked in which provides instant access to information and feedback. These tools are proving better to old to sensitise public at large.”

He further said “User generated content is driving the flow of information as an impact, hierarchies, are diminishing in organisations and they are becoming movement. Voice what used to be communication infrastructure is now the least used component. Web 2.0 has completely changed the face of Public Relations today.”

Dr Ajit Pathak, National President, Public Relations Society of India in his talk said “Effective communications strengthens society, which leads the country on a path of success. The need of the hour for development is to match the international standard and to be effective communicator in a globalised wired world.”

Mr Vivek shah National Vice President (West), PRSI also briefed about the activities carried out by PRSI chapters in the Western region.

On this occasion, the PRSI-Ahmedabad chapter website www.prsiahmedabad.co.in was also relaunched by chief guest Mr Ravi saxena, PRSI National President Dr Ajit Pathak and PRSI-Ahmedabad chapter immediate past Chairman Mr Bhavesh Upadhyay.

During the programme, the past chairpersons of Ahmedabad chapter Mrs Lakshmi Nagaswamy, Mr Suresh Buch, Ms Rekha Budhdev, Mr Mukund Kansara, Mr Dinesh Bhagat, Mr B L Yadav, Mr Vivek Shah and Mr Bhavesh Upadhyay were also felicitated by PRSI National President Dr Ajit Pathak.

Earlier, the National Council meeting of Public Relations Society of India was also held in Karnavati Club. More than 30 members were participated from the different PRSI Chapters of the country.
